Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a humane approach to addressing the feral and stray cat populations that works. It is effective and has been proven to improve the lives of cats and stops the breeding cycle. Cats are humanely trapped, taken to the veterinarian to be spayed or neutered, vaccinated and eartipped. Eartipping is the universal sign that a feral / stray cat has been altered and vaccinated. The cat is then returned to their outdoor home.
There are many online resources that explain the benefits of TNR for these cats. Trusted resources are listed below:
Because You Care's TNR Program is for feral and stray cats that are residing outside. Caregivers are responsible for trapping and transporting the cat for their surgery. We can lend you a humane trap if one is available but require a $25 refundable deposit to use a trap. We can provide advice on the best practices for performing a successful trap, neuter, and return. Our TNR Program works with the Anna Wellness Clinics and vouchers are valid only at those locations.
Vouchers are issued the first week of each month and are good for 120 days. We only issue a set number of vouchers per month. Vouchers will be emailed to caretakers, so please be sure to check your email.
Vouchers will cover: spay/neuter, Rabies vaccine and ear tipping (not optional).
Please Note: Completion of the TNR Program Application does not guarantee approval for voucher(s). If you have any questions please reach out by email at info@becauseyoucare.org or by calling (814) 476-1212.
