Pandemic.   A single word that has changed the way we work, play, and interact with each other.  

But one thing that remains unchanged is that animals continue to be hungry and abandoned. 

They continue to be injured and ill.  They continue to be neglected and abused. And they continue to need your help...

SCOOBY came to Because You Care, abandoned, with his leg broken in three places and severe respiratory infection. After extensive surgery and a lengthy rehab with antibiotics, rest and love, Scooby recovered and found his happy place. He will forever be healthy and safe in his loving home. 

Oscar Lee was surrendered with severe ear infections that had gone untreated for a long time. His acute pain made him extremely cantankerous!  After months of continuous specialized care, medication, and patience from his foster home, Oscar became the sweet boy we knew he could be. He has been adopted and enjoys a pain free, happy life. 

Despite the pandemic, and despite cancelation or fundraisers, Because You Care has persevered to rescue these animals. This year your donation is especially important.

Fill out this form and send it in BEFORE August 10th to either Because You Care, or Erie Community Foundation. (Get it to BYC and we will get it to ECF on the 10th for YOU!)

• Dates: Checks will be accepted on or before Monday, August 10th. The online event takes place on Tuesday, August 11th between 8 am and 8 pm.
• Checks: Include this Erie Gives check donation form and mail/deliver to the center by August 7th, or deliver the check to The Erie Community Foundation at 459 West 6th Street, Erie PA 16507 by August 10th. Make checks payable to The Erie Community Foundation. You will receive a tax receipt from ECF.
• Credit Cards: Only Visa, MasterCard or Discover will be accepted. The credit card processor charges a nominal fee per transaction. Go to ErieGives.org to DONATE.
• Gift Amounts: Erie Gives has set a minimum gift amount of $25 for either check or credit card donations. You can give as much as you want, to as many non-profits as you want.
